Z-TapeBackup and Data Execution Prevention
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature built into Windows versions starting from Windows XP. DEP monitors programs during their execution to prevent malicious code from running. It is possible that DEP might inadvertently close programs it deems unsafe, even if they are actually allowed. If Z-TapeBackup exits unexpectedly during activation without displaying an error message, you may need to remove the program from DEP monitoring and then restart the activation process.
To adjust DEP settings, follow these steps:
1.Open the Control Panel and select System.
2.Click on Advanced system settings from the menu on the left side.
3.Go to the Advanced tab and click on Settings in the Performance section.
4.In the new window, navigate to the Data Execution Prevention tab.
5.Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
6.Click Add and browse to the Z-TapeBackup executable file to add it to the exception list.
7.Click Apply and OK, then restart your computer.
After adjusting DEP settings, try the activation process again.
Then, select "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" and click OK.
