Target Drive

Please insert a formatted CD/DVD/Blu-Ray!
A direct backup to CD-RW is only possible with a UDF CD-RW. Z-DBackup automatically recognizes disks that were formatted with UDF. If this should not work on your system, you can also manually disable the writing lock for disc drives in the program settings.

Direct backup to DVD-RAM

The advantages of a DVD-RAM in comparison to most other recordable or rewritable DVD blanks are that they were specifically conceived for use as an archiving medium. Data on a DVD-RAM has a durability of 30 years minimum if the disc is handled with care. Furthermore, the disc can be used almost like a hard disc or floppy disc and no burning software is needed to record it. A DVD-RAM can be rewritten up to 100,000 times.

Sometimes an appropriate DVD-RAM driver is missing with OEM DVD-RAM drives. In this case you have to obtain a suitable driver from the internet.

Backup to CD-R/CD-RW/DVD/Blu-Ray with the add-on module Z-DataBurn

Z-DataBurn make it possible to automatically burn backup archives to discs after the backup process, i.e. the backup is always first created on a local hard drive and then burned to a CD/DVD, Blu-Ray.or M-Disk Therefore, select a local drive/directory as the target location.
